Safe.

There is no open flame to be concerned with –

the pipe and fitting are heated through resistance
heating. The RT-175 will reach temperatures that will
melt all solder, including the 95/5, lead-free types.

Fast.

The RT-175 carbon tips surround the fitting and

deliver heat more evenly to the joint. The fact that the
heat is delivered in a uniform fashion increases the probability
of a perfect joint every time. In less than 30 seconds, with a
minimum of effort, a joint can be completed.

Versatile.

The RT-175 has two power settings that allow better

control of the heat applied to the joint. This feature will help
prevent overheating smaller diameter tubes, yet deliver enough
power to melt solder in 3

joints.

Easy To Operate.

The RT-175 operates on a continuous cycle so

there is no need to turn the unit on and off. Simply turn the unit on
and wait for the solder to flow. Also, smaller openings have to be
made in the wall to make repairs.

All these features and more, combined with RIDGID quality, make the
RT-175 the choice for all your soldering applications.

Model RT-175

Electric Soldering Gun

The safer, flameless alternative to torches –

The new RT-175 Electric Soldering Gun is a lightweight, rugged electric
soldering gun that sweats joints on copper tube up to 3

″.

The RT-175 will

operate on a standard 115V, 15 AMP outlet. There is no open flame to
worry about igniting wallboard, insulation, or studs and joists in the walls.
Simply place the carbon tips on the copper fitting and remove when
the solder begins to flow.
