ASSEMBLY OF STEEL QUIK-LOK

BLADE CLAMP

•

Holding tool in vertical position, place SPRING COVER (49)

onto spindle.

•

Slide TORSION SPRING (50) onto spindle with leg of spring on ‘hole’ side of spindle.

•

Slide SLEEVE (43) onto spindle, aligning hole of sleeve with spindle hole.

•

Slide REAR CAM (58) over sleeve until it bottoms against sleeve shoulder, ensure spring leg is inserted in hole of rear cam.

•

Rotate REAR CAM in the direction of the arrows shown on SPRING COVER until there is clearance for LOCK PIN (7) to be inserted into sleeve / spindle

holes. Coat LOCK PIN with powered graphite and insert.

•

Align FRONT

STEEL

CAM COLLAR (66) inner ribs with REAR CAM outer slots and slide FRONT CAM onto sleeve until it bottoms.

•

Attach RETAINING RING in groove of SLEEVE and insure it is fully seated.

•

Blade Clamp Assembly should move freely. Spray lubricant

(44-22-0190 TFE Dry Spray Teflon Lubricant, or equivalent)

can be used to help maintain ‘free’

blade clamp movement during normal use. In extreme conditions, it may be necessary to remove, clean and re-assemble blade clamp.

Note: On early version Quik-Loc Sawzall’s without counter bore (drill point) in the spindle to fully accept blade lock pin, installation will require the Lock Pin to be at a ‘midway’ point on the

ramp of the Rear Cam. Turn the Rear Cam 1/2 way, before installing the assembly (Rear Cam, Sleeve & Pin) into the Front Cam.
