CYMBAL SETUP & OPERATION

Electronic cymbals produce no sound themselves and require the use of external sound modules
in order to be used as musical instruments. Surge Cymbals are compatible with a variety of drum
modules and can also be used to trigger sounds on any MIDI instrument using a “Trigger to MIDI”
interface.

1.

Insert the “right-angle” end of the ¼” mono cable (included) into the trigger housing on the

underside of the cymbal.

2.

Place the cymbal onto a cymbal stand.

3.

Connect the other end of the cable to your drum module.

Though a conventional hi-hat setup consists of

two

cymbals, you need only

one

Surge Hi-Hat

Cymbal to create the same sounds. The opening and closing action of conventional hi-hat
cymbals will be emulated by the module and controlled by the pedal. (Because of this, you may
also use a regular cymbal stand to mount the hi-hat instead of a conventional hi-hat stand with a
clutch, pedal, etc.)

PREPARACIÓN Y OPERACIÓN DE LOS PLATILLOS

Los platillos electrónicos no producen ningún sonido por sí mismos y requieren el uso de módulos
de sonido externos a fin de ser usados como instrumentos musicales. Los platillos Surge son
compatibles con una variedad de módulos de batería y se pueden usar también para disparar
sonidos en cualquier instrumento MIDI usando una interfaz de “disparador a MIDI”.

1.

Inserte el extremo en “ángulo recto” del cable mono de ¼” (incluido) en el alojamiento del

disparador de la parte inferior del platillo.

2.

Coloque el platillo en un soporte.

3.

Conecte el otro extremo del cable a su módulo de batería.

Si bien una configuración hi-hat consiste en

dos

platillos, necesita sólo

un

platillo Hi-Hat Surge

para crear los mismos sonidos. La acción de apertura y cierre de los platillos hi-hat

ASSEMBLAGE ET FONCTIONNEMENT DES CYMBALES

Les cymbales électroniques ne produisent aucun son d’elles-mêmes et requièrent l’utilisation de
modules de sons externes afin d'être utilisées comme instrument. Les cymbales Surge sont
compatibles avec une variété de modules de percussion et peuvent également être utilisées pour
déclencher des sons sur n’importe quel instrument MIDI à l’aide d’une interface « capteur à
MIDI ».

1.

Insérez l’extrémité à angle droit du câble mono ¼ po (inclus) dans le boitier du capteur sur le
revers de la cymbale.

2.

Placez la cymbale sur le support à cymbale.

3.

Branchez l’autre extrémité du câble au module de percussion.

Bien que la charleston traditionnelle comprend deux cymbales, vous n'avez besoin que d'une
cymbale charleston Surge pour créer le même son. L’action d'ouvrir et de fermer des cymbales
charleston traditionnelles est émulée par le module de percussion et commandée par la pédale.
(De cette façon, vous pouvez utiliser un support de cymbale régulier au lieu d’utiliser un support
de charleston conventionnel avec pédale, etc.)

CONFIGURAZIONE E UTILIZZO DEI PIATTI

I piatti elettronici di per sé non producono suoni e richiedono l’uso di moduli sonori esterni per
poter essere usati come strumenti musicali. I piatti Surge sono compatibili con un’ampia gamma di
moduli di percussioni e possono anche essere utilizzati per attivare suoni su qualsiasi strumento
MIDI servendosi di un’interfaccia “Trigger to MIDI” (da trigger a MIDI).

1.

Inserire il capo “ad angolo retto” del cavo mono da ¼” (in dotazione) nell’alloggiamento del

trigger posto sul lato inferiore del piatto.

2.

Posizionare il piatto su un apposito supporto.

3.

Collegare l’altro capo del cavo al modulo batteria.

Nonostante un setup tradizionale dell’hi-hat comprenda

due

piatti, per creare gli stessi suoni sarà

necessario

un

piatto Surge Hi-Hat. L’azione di apertura e di chiusura dei piatti convenzionali verrà

emulata dal modulo e controllata dal pedale. (Per questo motivo, si può anche utilizzare un
normale supporto per piatti per montare l’hi-hat anziché un supporto per hi-hat con frizione,
pedale, ecc.)

BECKEN INSTALLATION & BEDIENUNG

Elektronische Becken produzieren selbst keine Töne und deshalb benötigen sie bei Verwendung
dieser als Musikinstrument externe Tonmodule. Surge Becken sind mit einer Reihe von
Schlagzeugmodulen kompatibel und können über eine “Trigger nach MIDI”-Schnittstelle zum
Auslösen von Tönen auf jedem MIDI-Instrument verwendet werden.

1.

Das “rechtwinklige” Ende des beiliegenden 6,3mm Mono-Kabels in das unter dem Becken

befindliche Triggergehäuse einführen.

2.

Becken auf einen Beckenstand montieren.

3.

Das andere Ende des Kabels an Ihr Schlagzeugmodul anschließen.

Obwohl ein herkömmlicher HiHat-Aufbau normalerweise aus

zwei

Becken besteht, brauchen Sie

nur

ein

Surge HiHat-Becken, um die gleichen Töne zu produzieren. Das Öffnen und Schließen

herkömmlicher HiHat-Becken wird durch das Modul nachgeahmt und über das Pedal gesteuert.
(Deshalb können Sie zur Montage des HiHats auch einen regulären Beckenständer anstelle eines
