MSD’s Bronze Chevrolet distributor gears are machined to be used on a 0.500” distributor shaft. (All MSD Chevrolet Distributors have
0.500” shaft.) These gears are machined from Ampco 45 alloy which is an aluminum bronze material with 5% nickel added. This
produces a gear with excellent impact and wear resistance while eliminating damage to billet camshafts.
MSD offers several bronze gears ranging from a standard gear to a 0.015” oversized gear. The oversized gears will have the size
stamped in the lower par t of the gear such as “.006 OS.
IMPORTANT
Enclosed in this kit is a tube of camshaft and lifter lubricant that must be used during the installation of this distributor gear. Apply a
liberal amount of lubricant to the gear before installing the distributor in the engine.
