Rotor and Rotor Base
for MSD Crank Trigger Distributors
with the Large Cap
PN 8457
Parts Included:
1- Rotor
1- Rotor Base
2- Screws and Belleville Washers
The Rotor and Base must be used with MSD Crank Trigger Distributors; PN 84697, 8558, 84997,
84698, 8448, 85691, 8569, 2340.
This Rotor and Base have been updated and
will not interchange with the older style rotor or base.
To differentiate between the two, see Figure 1. The PN 8457 Rotor and base replaces rotor, PN 84597,
and base, PN 8465.
Note: The position of the new rotor on the base has also changed which means that the rotor
phasing
must be reset.
Updated, PN 8457 Discontinued
The new rotor features a rotor tip that is
screwed down. The Base is notched to
accept the rotor tip screw boss.
This rotor does not have a screw
down rotor tip and the base is not
notched.
Note difference in rotor
position-rotor phasing
must be adjusted.
