How to connect a record player to my Yamaha Amp or Receiver?

As Long as the Yamaha Amp or Receiver is offering analogue inputs you can
connect a Record player to your Yamaha device. There are three ways to connect a
Record player, depending on what kind of analogue inputs are available on your
Yamaha device and what kind of Cartridge your Record player is equipped with.

Option 1:

Dedicated analogue PHONO input.
If your device offers that kind of input, you can connect a Record player with MM
Cartridge directly.
Most of the entry class and midrange Record players are equipped with that kind of
cartridge factory wise, like the Yamaha MusicCast Vinyl500, for example.

Some upper-class Yamaha Amplifiers are offering analogue Phono inputs, that are
also capable of handling Record player carrying MC Cartridges.
MC Cartridges need a special Phono Pre-Amp, since they have a very low output
signal. In that case the amplifier has the matching Phono Pre-Amp build in and
depending on what kind of Cartridge your Record player is equipped with, you can
select between MM or MC Phono Pre-Amp, by using a selector switch, that is
located next to the input or the on the front panel.
