Wi-Fi Detector
W hen you push the scan button on the W i-Fi detector, it will
immediately display detailed informati on about any 802.11b/g
wireless network such as SSID , signal str ength, what kind of
security (if any is enabled), the current operati ng channel and
also what ki nd of network is available (infrastructure or Ad-hoc).
The LCM with backlight also displays the number of access
points you can connect to and battery indicator so you know
when it needs to be r echarged. W hen the batter y power i ndicator
is low, you can easil y recharge the built in Li-Pol ymer batter y by
plugging it into any USB port on your computer.
WLAN USB Adapter
This W i-Fi Detector also acts as a W LAN USB adapter w hich
complies with IEEE 802.11b/g standards and supports up to
54Mbps high-speed wireless network connecti ons. It is suitable
for any laptop or desktop computer for user to go online
wirelessly.
For security, It supports 64/128/256-bit W EP data encr yption that
protects your wireless network from eavesdropping. It also
supports W PA (W i-Fi Protected Access) that combines IEEE
802.1x and TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) technol ogies.
Client users ar e required to authorize before accessing to APs or
AP Routers, and the data transmitted in the netw ork is
encr ypted/decr ypted by a d ynamically changed secret key.
Mor eover, this adapter supports W PA2 which uses AES
technol ogy to ensure the highest degree of security and
authenticity for digital informati on and is the most advanced
solution defi ned by IEEE 802.11i for the security in the wireless
netw ork.
