• INSTALLATION
Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps. Consult service manual for specific procedures,
if necessary.
CAUTION:
Be sure that fan bolts don't protrude through the hub so far that they hit the water pump housing.
NOTE:
Removal of backing plate is not recommended, as there are no user serviceable parts in the water pump.
If backing plate is removed, use conventional gasket sealer (not RTV silicone) on gasket.
• SPECIAL NOTES:
Check closely for any interference with drive belts; some filing for clearance may be necessary with some appli-
cations.

• DESCRIPTION
The Edelbrock aluminum water pump is a heavy duty water pump for both street and racing applications. The
pump is externally the same as original equipment pumps to provide compatibility with all accessories and pul-
leys. It offers weight savings along with increased durability and cooling potential. An additional feature is the
threaded tab for a cam stop that can be used to pre-load the timing chain cover and limit camshaft forward
movement. #8815 is a reverse rotation water pump for 1984-92 Corvettes with serpentine drive belt. Not for
LT-1 Corvettes.
Polished Aluminum Water Pump #8825 fits the same applications as #8815.
