Dell Latitude X300
Equipped with Intel’s latest low-voltage Intel
®
Pentium
®
M 1.2GHz processor and the Intel 855GM integrated video
chipset, the Dell Latitude X300 is ultra-lightweight and comfortable to use with plenty of power and performance for
demanding mobile computing. Connectivity is also a priority with the X300, which includes standard Intel Centrino™
mobile technology featuring the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 802.11b MiniPCI card or customers can choose the
Dell TrueMobile™ 1300 802.11b/g MiniPCI solution at no additional cost. For enhanced wireless connectivity Dell also
offers the TrueMobile 1400 802.11a/b/g MiniPCI card. Fully integrated communications including 56K
2
v.92-capable
modem, 10/100 Ethernet (10/100/1000 Ethernet available via X300 MediaBase) and optional Bluetooth™, provide
effortless mobility. The optional X300 MediaBase provides easy access to media drives as well as abundant connectivity
ports, a sub-woofer and a battery bay for extra battery life or battery charging.
Intuitive form factors and design
The Latitude X300 makes a great impression with its ultra-slim design, which is only 20mm thin. The system’s hard disk
drive is internal, with optical media used externally in either the optional Dell D/Bay external modular bay or the optional
X300 MediaBase. Therefore, you can carry media modules only when needed. The D/Bay and X300 MediaBase use the
same modular optical media solutions as the Latitude D-Family systems. This makes swapping modules in a business
environment much more convenient.
MediaBase docking
The X300 MediaBase can be used at your desk or on the go. Its lightweight and sleek design allows you to take it on
the road. The media module bay in the X300 MediaBase provides access to all D-Family optical media modules and the
D-Family hard drive media module. It also provides a battery bay for extended system battery life or for charging your
second primary battery. For enhanced office connectivity the X300 MediaBase incorporates 10/100/1000 Ethernet,
allowing for faster cable LAN connection if your office environment has incorporated this technology. When you’re not
taking the MediaBase with you, it works ideally at your desk with its convenient cable management alleviating the need
to re-connect your monitor, keyboard, mouse and other frequently used peripherals each time you return to your desk.
The single-release mechanism allows easy removal of the system and provides auditory feedback to indicate when
docked. To complement the X300’s two system speakers, the MediaBase provides a sub-woofer for high-quality sound.
High performance with Intel Pentium M processor and Intel 855GM chipset
The Dell Latitude X300 features the latest Intel Pentium M processors, which utilise a new micro-architecture
incorporating a power-optimised 400MHz processor system bus and aggressive clock gating designed for
high performance and low power. These processors also feature 1MB of power-managed cache and enhanced
Intel SpeedStep
®
technology. The X300 also incorporates the Intel 855GM chipset, which offers integrated graphics
capability and USB 2.0 support. The integrated graphics utilise the system memory as a shared resource for both system
memory and graphics needs, dynamically allocating a portion of the memory to graphics based on the graphic demands
of the applications currently in use. Up to 64MB of memory can be allocated to graphics, and with integrated video
acceleration you can view high-quality, full-frame-rate DVDs on your notebook or connected external display with low
power consumption.
