Loading the manual

Connecting your electronic musical instrument to an iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad running a dedicated app
makes it much easier to manage your music data and provides access to a range of other convenient
functions. As such, making music becomes much more fun.

NOTE

The term “iPhone” will subsequently be used to refer to the iPod touch and the iPhone in this manual.

Apps

The list of the capable DTX Apps can be found on ‘Apps’ on the sidebar in each country DTX page (

http://

www.yamaha.com/dtx/

). Compatibility with different iPhone and iPad models and other system requirements

vary from app to app. Details are provided on the above web page and should be checked carefully before
proceeding.
Certain apps can be used without having to connect the musical instrument to your smart device. (In such a
case, you will not need to make any of the connections described below.)

Downloading the app

Click or tap the

App Store

icon for the required app on the above web page. The corresponding

App Store

page will open, and from there, you can download the app.

Usage Precautions

In order to prevent your iPhone or iPad from falling and being damaged, be sure to observe the following
precautions.
• If you need to relocate or reposition the instrument, disconnect your iPhone or iPad first and place it

somewhere safe.

• Position your iPhone or iPad on a stable surface and do not subject it to excessive force.
• Never leave your iPhone or iPad connected and positioned on top of the instrument when you have

finished using it or must move away.

Preventing interference due to communication

In order to eliminate the risk of interference due to data communication by your iPhone or iPad, we
recommend that you turn on Airplane Mode.
