2. Components of Human Detection Sensor Kit

Since the installation work requires specialized techniques, it must only be carried out by the serv-
ice center or the installation center approved by LG Electronics. (If installation is carried out by a
person without an installation license, the person is responsible for all problems related to the in-
stallation, and, in such cases, LG Electronics shall provide no free maintenance or repair service.)

▶

After completing the installation, be sure to show the customer that the product functions normally
and has no problem.

▶

Before installation, make sure that you read the installation manual.

When installing the sensor kit, make sure that the insulating material is not torn or fall off while detaching
or attaching the motor cover. (If the finish of the insulating material is defective, air may leak out.)

Caution

1-3. After installing the Human Detection Sensor kit, set the installation direction of the kit

(general, 90-degree rotated). Refer to the remote control manual for details on how to set
the installation direction.

2. Attach the kit to the panel.

2-1. Detach the corner cover at the installation location of the kit.
2-2. To mount the kit, insert the connecting wire into the space that appears when the

corner cover is detached.

2-3. Detach the motor cover by loosening two screws.

2-4. Organize the connecting wire as shown in the figure, and attach the motor cover.

(Secure a margin of approximately 2-3/8 ~ 3-15/16 inch for the connecting wire to
make it easy to detach the Human Detection Sensor kit.)

2-5. Align the connecting wire to the wire guide and fix it with the hooks.

1-2. The default factory setting is for general installation, and you can rotate the PCB 90 de-

grees depending on the site conditions.

• The Human Detection Sensor detects movement within the detection range.
• Detection Ranges

Installation height 8.9 ft: 39.4 ft X 19.7 ft
Installation height 10.5 ft: 49.2 ft X 26.2 ft

Power Saving Operation Using Human Detection Sensor

• On/Off Power Saving: When no movement is detected, the operation is turned off to

save power.

• Temperature Power Saving: When no movement is detected, a power saving mode is

activated to reach the desired temperature.

The time for detecting the absence of a person can be set to 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 or 90
minutes.

The effect of the Power Saving operation may differ depending on the model, capacity,
or surrounding environment.

Precautions

• Do not conceal the sensor or touch it with a hand.
• When the sensor has dirt or other foreign substance, wipe it with a soft cloth. (There is a

risk of product malfunction if water enters the product. Do not immerse the product
under water. Make sure that you wipe it with a dry cloth.)

• The Human Detection Sensor detects the presence of human body based on move-

ment.

• When there is no movement, the sensor regards that there is no human body around.
• When an object moves away from the sensor, the sensor detects a big movement and

regards it as a human movement.

• When there are many moving objects, the wind direction adjustment function may be

delayed.

• Setting the detection result transmission period (5 seconds, 30 seconds (Default), 1

minute, 3 minutes) to 30 seconds (Default) or longer is recommended. When setting it to
5 seconds, the probability of false detection can be increased as it judges by motion.

• A change in indoor lighting conditions or sunlight shining through a window could be de-

tected as body movement.

• If you stop operation using a remote control while the On/Off Power Saving mode is on,

the product remains in a stopped state even when movement is detected.

• If movement is detected while On/Off Power Saving mode is on, even though no one is

in the room, the air conditioner may not turn off.

• The turning-off of the air conditioner may be delayed depending on the indoor conditions

while On/Off Power Saving is on.

3. Installation of Human Detection Sensor Kit

▶

Make sure that you install the Human Detection Sensor kit before installing the front panel.

- If the front panel has already been installed, you cannot install the Human Detection Sensor

kit. In such a case, separate the front panel, install the kit, and re-install the front panel.

- You can operate the kit using remote controls described in the Components of Human Detec-

tion Sensor Kit section.

- A protective film is attached on the exterior of the Human Detection Sensor kit. Make sure that

you remove the protective film after installation is completed.

Caution

1. Check the mounting direction of the Human Detection Sensor kit.

(Install it on the right corner of the front panel when seen from the display PCB.)
There is no available installation location other than this, and installing the product in
another location may cause product malfunction or damage.

1-1. Determine the installation direction of the sensor kit based on the conditions of the site

where the air conditioner is to be installed.

3. Use the front panel fixing bolts to fasten the panel and the main body together.

- Refer to the user manual for the 4-Way front panel.
- After fixing the panel, remove the protective film from the exterior of the Human De-

tection Sensor kit.

4. Detach the inlet grille from the panel and open the control

box cover of the main body

5. Refer to the wiring diagram attached to the control box

to connect all the connecting wires on the panel to the
connector inside PCB.

5-1. Connect the connecting wires of the kit to the yel-

low connector (CN_BLDC2) on the PCB as shown
in the figure.

6. Fasten the control box cover and attach the air Inlet grille.

Cuando instale el sensor, compruebe que el material aislante no está rasgado ni se ha caído al separar o al
acoplar la cubierta del motor. (Si el acabado del material aislante está defectuoso, podría filtrarse el aire.)

Precaución

1-3. Después de instalar el sensor de detección de presencia humana, establezca la dirección de

instalación de este (general o con una rotación de 90 grados). Consulte el manual del control
remoto para obtener más información sobre cómo establecer la dirección de instalación.

2. Adhiera el kit al panel.

2-1. Separe la cubierta de la esquina en el lugar de instalación del sensor.
2-2. Para montar el sensor, introduzca el cable de conexión en el espacio que aparece al

separar la cubierta de la esquina.

2-3. Separe la cubierta del motor aflojando dos tornillos.

2-4. Coloque el cable de conexión tal y como se muestra en la figura y acople la cubierta del

motor. (Deje un margen aproximado de entre 2-3/8 ~ 3-15/16 pulgadas para el cable de
conexión para que sea fácil desconectar el sensor de detección de presencia humana.)

2-5. Alinee el cable de conexión con la guía del cable y fíjelo con los ganchos.

• Ahorro de energía Encendido/Apagado: cuando no se detecta ningún movimiento, el dispositivos

Precauciones

• No cubra ni toque el sensor con las manos.
• Si el sensor contiene suciedad u otras sustancias extrañas, límpielo con un trapo suave. (Si

el producto entra en contacto con el agua, es posible que este deje de funcionar. No sumerja
el producto en agua. Límpielo con un trapo seco.)

• El sensor de detección de presencia humana detecta la presencia de las personas basán-

dose en el movimiento.

• Cuando no hay movimiento, el sensor considera que no hay ninguna persona alrededor.
• Cuando un objeto se mueve lejos del sensor, este detecta un gran movimiento y considera

que proviene de una persona.

• Si hay muchos objetos en movimiento, la función de ajuste de dirección del viento puede ser

más lenta.

• Se recomienda ajustar el periodo de transmisión del resultado de detección (5 segundos, 30

segundos (predeterminado), 1 minuto, 3 minutos) en 30 segundos (predeterminado) o más.
Si se ajusta en 5 segundos, puede aumentar la probabilidad de una detección falsa, ya que
se juzga por movimiento.

3. Instalación del sensor de detección de presencia humana

Asegúrese de instalar el sensor de detección de presencia humana antes de instalar el panel frontal.

- Si ya se ha instalado el panel frontal, no podrá instalar el sensor de detección de presencia hu-

mana. En ese caso, extraiga el panel frontal, instale el sensor y vuelva a instalar el panel frontal.

- Puede manejar el sensor utilizando los controles remotos que se describen en la sección "Compo-

nentes del sensor de detección de presencia humana".

- En la parte exterior del sensor de detección de presencia humana encontrará una película protec-

tora. Retire la película protectora cuando haya finalizado la instalación.

Precaución

1. Compruebe la dirección de montaje del sensor de detección de presencia humana.

(Si mira desde el PCB de la pantalla, instálelo en la esquina derecha del panel frontal.)
Este es el único lugar de instalación posible. Si instala el producto en cualquier otro lugar,
el producto podría dejar de funcionar o sufrir daños.

3. Utilice los tornillos de fijación del panel frontal para asegurar el panel al cuerpo principal.

- Consulte el manual de usuario para obtener más información acerca del panel frontal de 4 vías.
- Después de fijar el panel, retire la película protectora del exterior del sensor de detección

de presencia humana.
