Removing stock c arburetor and c able s
1.
Remove se at a n d g as ta nk.
Ma k e
sure fuel petcoc k is in “off”
position.
2. Remove throttle ca bles p aying
close a tte n tio n to rou tin g , as th e
n ew ca bles will n e e d to o b e rou te d
th e same .
3. Remove stock carb uretor a n d stock
throttle ca bles.
4. Unplu g TPS (throttle p osition
sensor) an d ta p e e n d o ff coming
from bike.
5. Remove h ot start b utto n a n d h ose
(for extern ally mou n te d h o t starts
o nly).
6. Stuff a dry, clea n rag into th e
intake ma nifold to ke e p d e bris from
e ntering e n gin e .
NOTE:
It may b e e asier to remove su b-
frame prior to installatio n.
Installing the Ede lbroc k Carburetor and
Throttle Cable s
1. Install th e provid e d throttle ca bles into
OEM throttle h o using a n d place b ack
o nto clea n h a n dle b ar.
2. Remove th e rub b er carb uretor
alig nme nt ta bs from th e ma nifold usin g
a razor bla d e or sharp cu tters. This
sho uld b e d o n e with th e ra g le ft in th e
manifold .
Be v ery c areful not to
damage the manifold or your hands
while doing this!!
3. Remove th e h ex pip e plu g from th e
carb ca p using a 1 1mm or 7 /1 6 wrench.
Do not dis c ard plug, a s it will be
needed later.
Install th e metering
a djustme nt to ol inclu d e d in th e
h ardware kit.
Do not ov er-tighten a s
damage ma y oc cur to c ap.
4. Install provid e d fu el line o nto fu el inlet
b a njo a n d secure with pinch clamp.
5. Place Ed elbrock carburetor into
manifold . Do n ot tig h te n clamp ye t.
6. Remove th e ca ble bracket e n d from
cable bracket using # 2 p hillips.
7. Install p ull ca ble (see Figure 1) e n d into
th e 8:0 0 p osition o f th e ca ble wh e el
a n d th e return ca ble in to th e 1 1 :0 0
p osition. Secure ca bles in to ca ble
bracke t by replacing e n d piece a n d
p hillips screw. Se e fig ure 2.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Ede lbroc k
Carburetor wa s de signed to be us ed
without TPS (throttle position s ensor).
We re commend the plug be taped off to
k e ep debris and w ater from entering.
With the TPS dis conne cted there is no
damage that c an oc cur to ignition
s y stem.
8. Place provide d vinyl ca p over brass
b arb o n cylind er a n d secure with small
tie-wrap. Se e fig ure 3.
