Removing Stock Carb and Cables
1.
Remove se at/fe n d er assembly a n d fu el
ta nk.
2.
Remove throttle ca bles p aying close
atte ntio n to ro utin g.
3.
Remove th umb throttle h o using if yo u are
installing a twist throttle.
4.
Remove air b ox.
5.
Remove stock carb uretor.
6.
Stuff a cle a n ra g into intake ma nifold to
kee p d e bris from e n tering e n gin e .
Preparing machine for carburetor
installation

. Ro u te th e provid e d throttle ca bles p er
man u facturer’s recomme n d e d proce d ure,
routin g th em th e same as th e stock ca bles.
2
. Remove th e rub b er alignme n t ta bs from
th e ma nifold using a razor bla d e or cu tters.
Be v ery c areful not to damage the intak e
manifold!
Thumb Throttle
1. Threa d ca ble into ca ble h o usin g o b
h a n dle b ar a n d install ca ble e n d into throttle
lever. Re fer to service ma n u al for assista nce
disassemblin g a n d reassembling throttle
h o using .
2. Attach ca ble in to ca ble wh e el with th e
cable e n d a t th e 8 :0 0 p osition of th e ca ble
whe el, th e n into bracket. Secure by
replacing th e ca ble bracke t e n d a n d p hillips
screw.

Twist Throttle
1. Re mov e stoc k thumb throttle
housing from handle bar end.
2. Install c able s into supplied twist
throttle hous ing by cla mping the end
with the pla stic elbow s into throttle
housing.
3.
Install th e p ull (see fig ure 3 for ca ble
ide n tificatio n), ca ble e n d into th e 8:0 0
p osition a n d th e idle ca ble e n d into th e
1 1:0 0 p osition o n th e ca ble wh e el.

Adjust th e p ull ca ble to achieve wide-
o p e n throttle. Adjust th e idle ca ble to take
u p th e slack.
When c able s are properly
adjusted, there should be approx. 1/8” of
free-pla y in the throttle.
