INSTRUCTION SUPPLEMENT FOR
2001-LATER YAMAHA RAPTOR
Removing stock c arburetor and c able s
1. Mak e sure fuel petcoc k is in “off”
position. Re mov e s e at, front
fenders and fuel tank .
2. Remove throttle ca bles p aying
close a tte n tio n to rou tin g , as th e
n ew ca bles will n e e d to o b e rou te d
th e same .
3. Remove stock carb uretors.
4. Remove stock ma nifolds a n d air
b o ots coming from air b ox.
5. Stuff a dry, clea n rag into th e
intake ma nifold to ke e p d e bris from
e ntering e n gin e .
6. Remove two (2) b olts h oldin g air
b ox in place .
Installing the Ede lbroc k Induction kit
1. Install th e provid e d throttle ca bles into
OEM throttle h o using (If using th umb
throttle kit) or for twist throttle , install
throttle ca bles into su p plied throttle
h o using a n d o n to h a n dle b ars.
2. Remove th e h ex pip e plu g from th e
carb ca p using a 1 1mm or 7 /1 6 wrench.
Do not dis c ard plug, a s it will be
needed later.
Install th e metering
a djustme nt to ol inclu d e d in th e
h ardware kit.
Do not ov er-tighten a s
damage ma y oc cur to c ap.
3. Install provid e d fu el line o nto fu el inlet
b a njo a n d secure with pinch clamp.
4. Install rub b er fla n g e o nto ma nifold
using su p plied b olts a n d wash ers. Se e
Fig 1.

5. Install g asket a n d ma nifold o n to e n gin e
using fo ur (4) M6.1 X1” fla n g e h e a d
screws sup plies in kit. Se e Fig 2.

6. Remove stock air b ox clamps from air
b o ots a n d install o n to ru b b er h oses
attach e d to ple n um. Se e Fig 3.

7. Place ple n um o nto fro nt of air b ox a n d
tig hte n clamps. Make sure ru b b er
h oses are p ush e d all th e way o n to air
b ox.
8. Place Ed elbrock carburetor into
manifold . Do n ot tig h te n clamp ye t.
9. Stretch rub b er h ose o nto fro nt of carb.
Thumb Throttle Installation
1. Remove th e ca ble bracket e n d from
cable bracket using # 2 p hillips.
2. For th umb ca ble installatio n , install
cable e n d in to th e 4 :0 0 p osition of
th e ca ble wh e el a n d th e
sho uld ere d e n d into th e b ottom slot
of th e ca ble bracket a n d secure by
replacing ca ble bracke t a n d Phillips
screw. Se e Fig 4 .
