INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WHEN BEING INSTALLED ON VEHICLES WITH
EDELBROCK T.E.S. #66062:

RIGHT SIDE:

1. Remove top of heater blower box from lower heater

box assembly in engine compartment.

2. Remove the bolts from the coolant reservoir so it can

be moved around.

3. Disconnect spark plug wires from spark plugs and

move out of the way.

4. Loosen the 2nd and 4th upper header flange bolts

for mounting bracket installation.

5. Install one mounting bracket on each of the two

header flange bolts loosened in Step 4. Position the
brackets so that the slot on the end is straight down
under the bolt and bracket is flat on top. These
brackets will angle forward and down slightly when
installed properly.

NOTE:

Before attempting to install the heat shield

onto the brackets, first measure the distance
between the threaded holes in the mounting
brackets. You should have 9 1/8” from center to
center of holes. If you don’t, you can bend the
brackets with a pair of pliers or a small hammer.
Doing this will make heat shield installation much
easier.

6. Install the right side heat shield by angling the front

edge of the heat shield down toward the front half of
the header and slipping it forward between the
header and the coolant reservoir and hose. Once it

is down on top of the brackets, slide it toward the
rear of the car, align holes and install supplied bolts
and lock washers.

NOTE:

We recommend you use a small amount of

high heat silicone R.T.V. on the top surface of the
mounting bracket to help to keep the shield from
rattling against the mounting brackets.

7. After you have tightened the heat shield to the

mounting brackets, tap on the shield to see if you
have rattles. To eliminate rattles, you can: (1) adjust
the shield at the mounting points “slotted holes”, (2)
bend the heat shield as needed for clearance, (3)
bend mounting brackets slightly for a better fit on
your vehicle.

8. Re-install plug wires onto spark plug.

NOTE:

Spark plug boots, wires and hose should not

contact the sharp edges of the heat shield as they
can be damaged.

9. Re-install bolts for coolant reservoir bottle.

Use

plastic ties and hose holder provided in kit as
needed to hold coolant hose away from sharp edges
of heat shield.

10. Re-install top half of heater blower box.

LEFT SIDE:

1. Disconnect spark plug wires from spark plugs and

move out of the way.

2. Loosen the 2nd and 4th upper header flange bolts

for mounting bracket installation.
