NOTE:

Split exit exhaust systems on four-wheel drive vehiclles may require removal or relocation of spare tire.

Suggested Tools for Installation:

3/8" ratchet set and 15mm socket

Liquid penetrant

Jackstands

Oxy/Acetylene torch or equivalent (for removal of old system)

9/16” wrench

DISASSEMBLY

1. Raise vehicle and support with the proper jackstands,

leaving the rear suspension hanging.

2. Use caution around hot exhaust systems to avoid

burns.

3. Use penetrating oil on all nuts, bolts and rubber

hangers.

4. Remove the muffler clamp that precedes the stock

muffler. The stock system may have an extension pipe
which runs from catalytic pipe to the muffler. This
extension pipe must be retained when using the
Edelbrock cat-back system. Pry all rubber hangers
free from the stock system.

5. Remove the old system from the rear working forward

towards the catalytic converter. Use an Oxy/Acetylene
torch to heat the junctions of the old pipes to ease
removal.

ASSEMBLY

1. Install 2-1/2” band clamp on inlet end of I-pipe and

snug clamp.

2. Slip muffler onto 3” end of I-pipe using 3” band clamp.

Snug clamp.

3. Slip both overaxle pipes into muffler using 2-1/2” band

clamps. Slip hangers into place and snug clamps.

4. Attach right tailpipe to overaxle pipe using 2-1/2” band

clamp and snug clamp. Install hanger in stock location
using 5/16” x 2” bolt nut and fender washer (supplied).

5. Attach left tailpipe to overaxle pipe using 2-1/2” band

clamp. Hang the left pipe on the universal hanger
using U-clamp. Hold the pipe in position and align the
hanger strap with a slotted hole in the side of the frame
rail behind the shock absorber. Select the hole that
gives the best clearance, then bolt to frame.

6. The factory-installed bumper may vary as much as

3/4” in height. You may want to adjust your bumper for
optimum appearance.

To make room for tip

installation, we suggest a minimum of 7/8” clearance
from the tailpipes to the bumper. Install tips using
supplied 2-1/2” band clamps.

7. Check for clearance to body, frame, and driveline as

you tighten the system from front to rear.

8. Start engine, check for any leaks and correct if any is

found.

WARNING!!!

Exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, a deadly invisible gas. Correct any leaks before driving!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer. Improper installation will void warranty and may

result in poor performance and engine or vehicle damage.
