The Edelbrock carb you have
purchased was designed to be used
with the Honda Power-Up manifold.
Honda part #16211-MBN-640.

Removing stock c arburetor and c able s.

1.

Remove se at a n d g as ta nk.

Ma k e sure fuel

petcoc k is in “off” position.

2. Remove throttle ca bles p aying close

atte ntio n to ro utin g, as th e n ew ca bles will
n e e d to o b e rou te d th e same.

3. Remove stock carb uretor a n d stock throttle

h o using .

4. Stuff a dry, clea n rag into th e in take

manifold to ke e p d e bris from e n tering
e n gin e .

NOTE:

It may b e e asier to remove su b-frame

prior to installatio n.

5. Install th e throttle ca bles into th e su p plied

throttle h o using a n d place o nto cle a n
h a n dle b ar e n d .

6. Remove th e rub b er carb uretor alignme nt

ta bs from th e ma nifold usin g a razor bla d e or
sharp cutters. This sh o uld b e d o n e with th e
rag le ft in th e ma nifold .

Be v er y c ar eful not

to damage the manifold or your hands
while doing this!!

7. Remove th e h ex pip e plu g from th e carb ca p

using a 1 1mm or 7 /1 6 wrench.

Do not

dis c ard plug, a s it will be ne eded later.

Install th e me tering a djustme n t to ol includ e d
in th e h ardware kit.

Do not ov er-tighten a s

damage ma y oc cur to c ap.

8. Install stock fu el line o nto fu el b a njo with th e

elb ow p oin te d u p a n d secure with clamp.

9. Remove rag from ma nifold .
1 0. Install carburetor into ma nifold . Do n o t

tig hte n yet.

1 1. Install th e p ull ca ble (lon g sh o uld er o n ca ble)

into th e 4 :0 0 p osition a n d th e return ca ble
e n d into th e 1:0 0 p ositio n o f th e ca ble
whe el. Secure ca bles to ca ble bracke t by
replacing e n d piece a n d p hillips screw. Se e
fig ure 2.

Adjust ca ble u ntil wide-o p e n throttle is
achieve d. Adjust return ca ble to take u p th e
slack

. Note: When throttle c able s ar e

properly adjusted, there should be
approx. 1/8” of fre e pla y in the throttle.

1 4. After throttle ca bles h ave b e e n a djuste d th e

h a n dle b ars sho uld b e rotate d from full righ t
sto p to full left sto p while o p e nin g a n d
closing throttle to e nsure smo oth o p eratio n.
Also ch eck to make sure th e ca bles d o n o t
catch or bin d o n a nythin g, i.e ., h a n d g u ards,
sta bilizers.

1 5. Secure clamp arou n d air b o o t o n to b ack o f

carburetor.

1 6. Install Remote Idle Ca ble in to threa d e d ta b

o n to p o f carb uretor. Refer to main
instructio n ma n u al for remote idle ca ble
installatio n a n d a djustme n t.
