The thermometer is a noncontact infrared thermometer. Simply aim the therm ometer at the target and press the ‘Scan
k ey ’ to display the surface tem perature.
Temperature Reading Operation
Press the ‘Scan key’ to take a temperature
reading. The unit will display the
temperature of the target for 10 seconds
then turn off automatically.

Continuous Temperature Reading Operation
1. Press and hold down the “Scan” key.
2. The unit will display continually updated real time tem perature readings while the “Scan” key is held down. When the
k ey is released, the last tem perature will display for 10 seconds, and then the unit will turn off automatically.
HACCP CHECK
The “HACCP CHECK” feature is inc orporated in our therm ometer
temperature to graphically indicate critical temperature zone. The icons and
LED indicators located above the display indicate if a food product is in a
s afe or unsafe HACCP “Danger Zone” temperature. The green and red LED
light will always be lit before the power is turned off.

” icon indicates a safe cool or frozen
c ondition below 40

” icon indicates a safe holding
temperature above 140

W hen the temperature is between 40

°C OR °F MODE
To change the thermometer from ‘°C’ to ‘°F’ or from ‘°F’ to ‘°C’, first turn the instrument on by pressing the ‘Scan key’,
then press the ‘M ode key’ one time. The ‘°C’ or ‘°F’ symbol will flash. Press the ‘Scan key’ to change to scale.
EMISSIVITY RANGE
The infrared thermometer is supplied with a default emissivity of 0.95. The emissivity of the thermom eter can be
changed from 0.05 (5E) to 1 (100E). Changes should only be carried out by experienced personnel. To change the
emissivity, firstly turn the instrument on by pressing the ‘Scan’ button, then press the ‘Mode’ button two tim es for
emissivity function. The 95E will flash on the LCD screen, then press the ‘M eas.’ button to adjust the em issivity value,
press the ‘Mode’ button again to exit the set up screen. For information relating to the em issivity of specific materials,
please contact the nearest retailer. Note: nonc ontact infrared thermom eters are not recommended for use in m easuring
the tem perature of s hiny or polished m etals.
BAR DISPLAY:
The fixed setting range for bar display is 68428°F (20~220°C) and Center=248°F (120°C).

LCD ERROR MESSAGES
The thermometer incorporates visual diagnostic messages as follows:

‘Hi’ or ’Lo’ is dis played when the temperature being measured is outside of the range of the
instrum ent, ‘Hi’ when higher than +662°F (+350°C) and ‘Lo’ when lower than 67°F (–55°C).

‘Er2’ is displayed when the thermometer is exposed to rapid changes in the ambient temperature.
‘Er3’ is displayed when the am bient temperature of the thermometer EXCEEDS 32°F (0°C) OR
+122°F (+50°C). In both cases you s hould allow plenty of time (minimum 30 minutes) for the
thermometer to stabilize to the working/room temperature.

For all other error messages it is necessary to reset the thermometer. To reset the thermom eter,
turn the instrument off, rem ove the battery and wait for a minimum of one minute, reinsert the
battery and turn on. If the error m essage rem ains, please contact Custom er Service for further
assistance.

The thermometer incorporates visual low battery indication as follows:
