HD SD SDI distribution amplifi e r s c o m b i n e

exceptional performance with both value and
compact size. The VDA-55 supports 143Mb/s,
270Mb/s and 1.485Gb/s Auto Rate Detection with
"Power OK", "Lock" and "HD" indicators. The
compact size of this distribution amplifi e r s , a l l o w s
it to be located in spaces where sta n d a r d r a c k
space is limited.

The LINK VDA-55 HD SD SDI DA res t ores the
incoming signal to its proper amplitude. The signal
is reshaped with automatic equalization, and DC
res toration. The VDA-55‘s maximum equalized
cable length; for SD up to 250 feet at 270Mb/s, and
HD up to 100 feet at 1.485Gb/s. Four outp u t s a r e
provided on the end panel, as well as a detachable
DC power cable.

There are three LED’s on the end opposite the BNC
connectors, showing Lock, Signal Pr e s e n c e a n d

DC Power. There are four outputs that represent
the input.

The VDA-55 input s i g n a l c a n b e 1 4 3 M b / s ,
177Mb/s, 270Mb/s, 360Mb/s , 540Mb/s, and 1.485
Gb/s standards.

The VDA-55 carries a 10-year warranty including
parts and labor.

The three LED's show the status of the input
signal; locked, and whether the data is Serial
Digital standard definition, or High Definition, HD
SDI. The signal output level is 800mV p-p, and
r eclocked. The VDA-55 can be used in pl a c e s
where space is a premium and at the same time
get excellent performance and lower cost.

The VDA-55 is designed for application s t h a t
require equalization, re-clocking and distribution for
HD SD SDI digital video as per SMPTE 259 (SD1)
and SMPTE 292 (HD). The VDA-55 includes an
automatic input cable c o m p e n s a t i o n c i r c u i t
commonly referred to as an adaptive cable
equalizer.

The VDA-55 includes a crystal referenced re-
clocking circuit that senses three data rate s : 1 4 3
Mb/s, 270Mb/s and 1.484 Gb/s. If t h e d a t a r a t e i s
one of these three rates the re-clocke r w i l l

automatically activate and reduce high freq u e n c y
jitter. If the incoming data rate is not 143 Mb/s.
270Mb/s or 1.4 84 Gb/s, then the VDA-55 re-
clocker will go into the bypass mode. If the data
rate is 143 Mb/s or 270 Mb/s, the VDA- 5 5 o u t p u t
r i s e times are s lowed down to comply with the
SMPTE 259 specification. The default for the VDA-
55 is the faster SMPTE 292 HD rise time.
