The DigiFlex 1660 accepts one analog stereo input
and provides one output of digital audio to AES3-
1992 or AES3-ID specification. Up to eleven
1660's may be mounted in a 2RU space with
LINK's DigiFlex frame. Transformer coupled digital
inputs and outputs are standard to eliminate the
possibility of ground loops.
The 1660 companion rear cell, model 1020,
allows the user to select terminal or BNC connec-
tors for digital output. Captive screw terminal
blocks are used for the balanced analog input. The
DigiFlex mounting frame with rear cell selection
provides for future growth into the digital or analog
video/audio system requirements.

Control of Channel Status Bits
The digital signal path uses state-of-the-art inte-
grated circuits. Reference sample rate is automati-
cally detected and indicated by front panel LEDs.
External reference errors are also detected and
reported by red LEDs on both the front and rear
panels. A "Frame Fault" output can also be en-
abled for centralized error reporting.
The digital conversion is accomplished using a 2-
bit Delta-Sigma converter with 24-bit resolution.
