Maintenance

• Clean the aperture lens and the unit’s body using a clean soft

cloth only. Do not use solvents.

• If the unit is exposed to water, dry it before storing.
• Remove the battery if the unit will be unused for a long period of

time.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING

This product is a class II laser.

Danger of laser radiation

• The use of protective eyewear is recommended
• Serious eye injury can result from looking directly into the beam or

by projecting the beam into the eyes of others.

• Do not operate the laser distance measurer near children or let

children operate the laser measurer.

• Do not look into a laser beam using magnifying optical equipment,

such as binoculars or telescope, as this will increase the level of eye
injury.

• Do not take the unit apart.
• Do not use in wet or very humid environments.
• Do not use in combustible environments such as in the presence of

flammable liquids, gases or dust.

• When not in use turn off the power and store in a dry place.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

• The 383 Laser Distance Measurer is powered by 2 AAA batteries

located at the back of the device. Open the cover and replace when
necessary.

• Battery life status is indicated by an icon on the initial screen.
• The estimated battery life is up to 5000 measurements

OPERATION

The 383 has a simple keypad that allows you to select various

measuring modes using the Menu Selection butten. The current mode
is indicated by the following:

Measuring:

Once you have selected the measuring mode you need, point the
laser at the target and press the Measure button. For Area, Volume
and Indirect Measurements take the measurements
according to the dimensions indicated by the

flashing line.

Area and Volume:

Indirect Measurements:

Indicates the reference point for taking measurements.
Press and hold the Menu selection button to change the
reference point.

Laser pointer is activated

Single distance measurement – The basic mode when
switching-on the unit. Return to this mode by pushing the
CLEAR button.
For continuous measuring, press and hold the
Measurement/Selector button for several seconds.
