IDEAL MF23 - Manual

IDEAL MF23

This selection and installation manual for garage doors focuses primarily on residential models from Ideal, covering both standard and custom styles. The document outlines key preparation steps for installation, including measurements for door openings (width, height, headroom) and necessary tools, alongside a comparison of different door types like steel panel or carriage house designs. It also details the EZ-SET torsion spring system, specifying its features and integration with various door models–such as stamped steel, custom woodcraft, or insulated options–alongside energy-efficiency considerations. Additionally, it provides detailed selection guides for premium, mid-range, and standard-value doors, including construction materials, warranties, color/finish options, and decorative hardware. The manual emphasizes customization flexibility for semi-custom and fully-custom designs, covering sizing, maintenance, and warranty details to ensure compatibility with residential garage setups.

NOTE:

On 8' and 9' wide doors, a reinforcement strut must be

purchased if an automatic garage door opener is installed.
The majority of homes today have automatic garage door openers.
Therefore, Ideal doors do not include a lock. If desired, an easy-to-install,
heavy-duty, keyed lock is available.
