Blackburst, Color Bars, and Audio Generator

FeaTures

Broadcast quality blackburst reference signals

— Six outputs on female BNC

connectors for creating blackburst reference signals to feed into genlockable devices.

Broadcast quality SMPTE color bars for NTSC and full-field 8-color bars for PAL

— Two of the blackburst outputs also provide standard SMPTE color bars for NTSC and
full-field 8-bars for PAL, selectable via DIP switch for easy troubleshooting and alignment.

Integrated 1 kHz audio tone generator

— Built-in audio generator offers 1 kHz,

balanced or unbalanced output on captive screw connectors for simplified audio
troubleshooting. The output level is switchable from +4 dBu to -10 dBV via DIP switch.

The Extron

BBG 6 A

Blackburst, Color Bars, and Audio Generator

offers six broadcast

quality, NTSC or PAL blackburst output signals, allowing a variety of video equipment to be
genlocked to a common reference signal. The blackburst signal consists of three reference
signal components: vertical sync, horizontal sync, and color burst. The first two outputs can
also provide broadcast quality NTSC SMPTE Color Bars or PAL full-field Color Bars test patterns,
selectable via a DIP switch. Additionally, the BBG 6 A includes a 1 kHz audio generator with
balanced or unbalanced audio on captive screw connectors. Part of the VersaTools

®

line of

products, the BBG 6 A is housed in a 1U, quarter rack width metal enclosure, making it ideal
for installation in equipment racks as well as small spaces or portable field use.
