LG Dishwasher Error Codes: Full List & Meanings

Updated · from manufacturer service documentation

LG dishwashers display letter-based error codes for water fill, drainage, leakage, and heating faults. Most of these same faults also surface during the built-in Test Mode as a technician runs the machine through each part in sequence. Below is every code we've confirmed against LG's service documentation so far, with full step-by-step fixes for the ones already published.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset an LG dishwasher after an error code?

Power the unit off, resolve the underlying cause described on the code's own page, and restart a normal cycle to confirm the code clears.

Is an AE code always a real leak?

Not necessarily — an unlevel machine, a loose door gasket, or the wrong detergent can all trigger AE without an actual plumbing leak. See the AE page for the full checklist.

How does LG's Test Mode work, and what codes can show up during it?

A technician enters Test Mode by pressing Power, then Start once — the display shows the software version with all LEDs lit. Pressing Start again steps through the drying fan, soil sensor, drain motor, inlet valve, wash motor, and Vario Valve, one part per press, until the eighth press powers the unit off. A few extra codes are specific to this sequence rather than normal operation: nC appears at the first step if the NFC or Wi-Fi module fails, EE if the EEPROM fails, and nE at the wash-position step if the Vario Valve fails.
