IMPORTANT - READ OPERATOR'S MANUAL BEFORE OPERATING OR MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
Deluxe Seat Adjustment
Easy hand lever action allows forward and backward movement of seat. No bolts to loosen or
tighten.
Mower Blade Operation
1. T o s t a r t m o w e r b l a d e s , p u l l u p s l i g h t l y o n b l a d e d r i v e s w i t c h h a n d l e a n d m o v e i t
forward to the "ON" position. 2. To stop mower blades, move switch
handle to the "OFF" position.
Body Removal
1 . D i sc o n n e c t t h r o t t l e c a b l e f r o m e n g i n e .
2. Disconnect rear wiring loom from the body by turning the threaded collar on connector, in a
c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e d i r e c t i o n . T h i s p l u g i s l o c a t e d a t t h e r i g h t r e a r o f b o d y .
3. Remove the four control lever bolts and remo v e u p p e r c o n t r o l l e v e r s ( P / N 9 0 7 9 & 9 0 8 0 ) .
4. Remove the two acorn nuts on floor of body and release latches on the rear of body
near each side.
5. Place height adjustment lever in the vertical position, engage the parking brake and
carefully lift body off the chassis.
6 . R e v e r s e a b o v e p r o c e d u r e s t o i n s t a l l b o d y .
Safety Checks - "IMPORTANT"
1.
A f t e r r e a s s e m b l y o f b o d y o n t o c h a s s i s a n d w h i l e s e a t e d o n t h e m o w e r , a t t e m p t t o s t a r t t h e
e n g i n e w i t h m o w e r d e c k e n g a g e d . T h e e n g i n e s h o u l d n o t s t a r t . I f e n g i n e d o e s start, return mower
to an Authori ze d Dixon Dealer for adjustment or repair.
2. Disengage mower deck and start engine with the operator in a normal seated position o n t h e
m o w e r . E n g a g e m o w e r d e c k a n d r e m o v e w e i g h t f r o m t h e s e a t . T h e e n g i n e s h o u l d s t o p . I f e n g i n e
d o e s n o t s t o p w h e n o p e r a t o r r i s e s f r o m s e a t , r e t u r n m o w e r t o a n Authorized Dixon Dealer for
adjustment or repair.
Parking Brake Adjustment
1. R e m o v e b o d y a s d e s c r i b e d a b o v e .
2. Adjustment points are located at rear of transaxle 'on each side.
Remove roll pins
from swivel fitting (P/N 2172). Turn swivel fitting on brake rod (P/N 5100) in to
tighten, just enough to prevent brake from slipping when engaged.
3. Reinstall roll pin.
C A U T I O N : Over tightening may cause premature wear on brake band (P/ N 5 0 8 5 ) .
Mower Deck Drive Adjustment
No adjustment necessary! The spring loaded idler pulley maintains proper tension throughout
belt life.
Removing Mower Deck
1. Remove mower deck drive belt (P/N 6111) by p u l l i n g i d l e r p u l l e y ( P / N 1 6 8 7 ) a w a y f r o m belt and
remove belt from the rear pulley.
2. Remove the two clevis pins (P/N 3072) from the L - r o d s a t r e a r o f d e c k a n d s l i d e f r e e from
slots.
3 . R e m o v e t h e c l e v i s p i n ( P / N 3 0 7 2 ) f r o m t h e l i f t l i n k a g e a t t h e f r o n t o f d e c k .
4. Remove cotter pin from shaft (P/N 1 3 3 2 ) l o c a t e d a t f r o n t o f m o w e r d e c k o n s l i d e
p l a t e s w e l d e d a t b a t t e r y b o x . S l i d e s h a f t f r e e .
5 . R a i s e f r o n t o f m o w e r a n d r o l l i t f r e e o f m o w e r d e c k a s s e m b l y .
6 . T o i n s t a l l d e c k , r e v e r s e a b o v e p r o c e d u r e .
R e m o v i n g M o w e r B l a d e
1 . S e c u r e m o w e r b l a d e ( P / N 6 2 3 1 ) f r o m t u r n i n g .
2 . O b s e r v e b l a d e p o s i t i o n w h e n r e m o v i n g .
3. Remove blade bolt (P/N 3268), lock washer (P/N 3065) and blade washer (P/N 6113).
4 . T o r e i n s t a l l , r e v e r s e a b o v e p r o c e d u r e .
WARNING: S h a r p e d g e s o n b l a d e c a n c a u s e i n j u r y ; C a u t i o n s h o u l d b e e x e r c i s e d w h e n
service is required on the blade.
