S e a t A d j u s t m e n t

Loosen B o l t s on s l i d i n g brackets under each s i d e of seat, s l i d e seat forward o r r e a r w a r d t o
d e s i r e d p o s i t i o n . R e - t i g h t e n b o l t s . D o n o t o p e r a t e m o w e r w i t h b r a c k e t b o l t s i n a l o o s e
c o n d i t i o n .

M o w e r B l a d e O p e r a t i o n

T o s t a r t m o w e r b l a d e s , m o v e l e v e r o n f l o o r s l o w l y t o " E N G A G E " p o s i t i o n . T o s t o p
m o w e r b l a d e s , m o v e l e v e r o n f l o o r s l o w l y t o " D I S E N G A G E " p o s i t i o n .

B o d y R e m o v a l

1 . D i s c o n n e c t t h r o t t l e c a b l e f r o m e n g i n e .

2. Disconnect the rear w i r i n g loom (P/N 4109) from the body by lightly s q u e e z i n g the Econo -

Seal plug. This is located at the l e f t rear of the body.

3 . N o t e : L o o s e n b o l t s t h a t h o l d b o d y s w i t c h ( P / N 4 0 7 9 ) a n d s l i d e s w i t c h a w a y from engaging

rod. Tighten one bolt j u s t enough to hold s w i t c h in this p o s i t i o n u n t i l b o d y i s
r e a s s e m b l e d .

4 . R e m o v e 4 c o n t r o l l e v e r b o l t s a n d r e m o v e u p p e r c o n t r o l l e v e r s ( P / N 1 5 0 1 L - 1 5 0 1 R ) .

5 . R e m o v e e n g a g i n g h a n d l e ( P / N 6 0 8 9 ) b y r e m o v i n g b o l t a n d n u t u n d e r h a n d l e .

6 . R e m o v e t h e 2 a t t a c h n u t s o n f l o o r o f b o d y a n d 2 s h e e t m e t a l s c r e w s a t t h e r e a r o f b o d y .

7 . P l a c e h e i g h t a d ju s t m e n t l e v e r i n v e r t i c a l p o s i t i o n , e n g a g e p a r k i n g b r a k e a n d c a r e f u l l y l i f t

b o d y u p a n d o f f c h a s s i s .

8 . R e v e r s e t h e a b o v e p r o c e d u r e f o r a s s e m b l y .

S a f e t y C h e c k s

W i t h t h e m o w e r d e c k i n t h e e n g a g e d p o s i t i o n s l i d e t h e b o d y s w i t c h ( P / N 4 0 7 9 ) t o w a r d

the engaging rod ( P / N 6 0 8 7 -1) until the switch l e a f j u s t makes contact w i t h the

s w i t c h b u t t o n . T i g h t e n b o t h b o l t s i n s w i t c h b r a c k e t .

W i t h mower deck engaged, attempt to start engine in all cutting height p o s i t i o n s .

I f e n g i n e s t a r t s i n a n y c u t t i n g h e i g h t p o s i t i o n , r e - a d j u s t t h e s w i t c h . D i s e n g a g e

the mower deck and start the engine in each cutting height position. If engine

fails to start in any cutting height position, re- adjust s w i t c h .

W i t h o p e r a t o r i n n o r m a l m o w i n g / p o s i t i o n , e n g a g e m o w e r d e c k a n d r e m o v e w e i g h t f r o m

seat. The engine should stop. Repeat this procedure in each cutting height

position. If engine does not stop when operator rises from seat in each cutting

h e i g h t p o s i t i o n , r e t u r n t o a n a u t h o r i z e d D i x o n d e a l e r f o r a d j u s t m e n t f > r r e p a i r s .

Parking Brake Adjustment

R e m o v e b o d y a s d e s c r i b e d a b o v e . T i g h t e n n u t o n b r a k e r o d ( P / N 2 5 3 3 ) ( L o c a t e d i n f r o n t o f t h e
t r a n s a x l e o n e a c h s i d e . ) , j u s t e n o u g h t o p r e v e n t b r a k e f r o m s l i p p i n g w h e n e n g a g e d . C A U T I O N :
O v e r t i g h t e n i n g m a y c a u s e p r e m a t u r e w e a r o n b r a k e b a n d ( P / N 5 0 8 5 ) .

M o w e r D r i v e B e l t A d j u s t m e n t

B e l t tension for mower d r i v e belt (P/N 2 4 1 2 ) is a d j u s t e d by loosening nut on the c o n n e c t i n g
a r m a s s e m b l y ( P / N 2 1 7 1 - A ) a n d t u r n i n g b o l t t o a c h i e v e d e s i r e d t e n s i o n . R e -tighten nut.
T e n s i o n s h o u l d b e c h e c k e d w i t h b e l t i n e n g a g e d p o s i t i o n .

R e m o v i n g M o w e r D e c k

1 . R e m o v e e n g a g i n g h a n d l e ( P / N 6 0 8 9 ) b y r e m o v i n g b o l t a n d n u t u n d e r h a n d l e .

2. Loosen belt keeper ( P / N 2 2 3 4 ) located under engine by loosening 2 rear engine

mount bolts to a l l o w mower deck drive belt to come free of rear pulley.
