Henry’s Service Center will

display its latest products
at the Daily Gate City and
Hancock County Journal-
Pilot’s Home and Leisure
Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 28, at Sullivan
Auctioneers, east of Hamilton
on Highway 136.

The Bowen, Ill., business

has been serving the
community’s mowing needs
– and more – for the past 27
years.

Paul Henry opened Henry’s

Service Center in 1988, and
his son Jason joined him
as manager of the business.
Henry’s originated with

the sales and service of
agricultural equipment, but
added Cub Cadet mowers
when a local dealer closed in
2003 or 2004.

“We stay really busy

throughout the year with
ag equipment,” Jason said.
“That’s probably 75 percent of
our business.”

In addition to Cub Cadet

riding and push lawnmowers
and lawn tractors, Henry’s
sells and works on Echo
trimmers, chainsaws and
blowers. Service
is available for all
makes and models,
even those not
purchased from
Henry’s.

Henry’s is an

authorized Modern Tool and
Die service center, according
to Jason.

“We don’t only sell you

a mower – you’re getting
service as part of your
purchasing experience,” he
said.

Jason has noticed that most

customers procrastinate when
it comes to purchasing new or
servicing existing equipment.

“During the first week of

mowing season, we get about
20 calls,” he said. “We have

already sold a few this year.”

The latest innovation

from Cub Cadet – the zero-
turn riding mower – was
introduced several years ago,
and other manufacturers are
beginning to follow suit with
their own renditions.

Residential Cub Cadet

mowers come with a
three-year parts and labor
warranty, while commercial
models are covered for four
years.

“When you buy a mower,

you should think about
service,” Jason said. “The
more money you spend, the
better the warranty terms.”

Henry’s Service Center is

at 202 S. Worrel St., a block
south of the four-way stop in
Bowen. Business hours are 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and 8
a.m. to noon Saturday.
